Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: I am a virtual assistant. It started with me always doing it on the side for people. They just knew I could get things out and get it done efficiently. In my past life, I worked in food service management. While you get an awesome salary, you don’t get an admin. In my lead role, on top of managing my staff, I had to handle all my office administrative tasks. Taking that skill set and being able to apply it to a business has been fun and I enjoy what I do. It’ll be three years in November 2019. It’s called Mova Business Solutions.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Greendale and what do you love there?

A: Sugar & Flour on Broad Street. The owners, Karen and George, are awesome people. It’s not just because I like their food and I like all their bakery. I like the people and it gives you a great atmosphere to work. My favorite thing is their cranberry oat cookies. Those are my favorite in the entire world! Food-wise, I like all their soup. With their soup and their quiche, you can never go wrong.

Q: How long have you lived in Greendale?

A: I have lived in Greendale about 4 years. I’ve moved around the Milwaukee area a bit and wanted to live somewhere that felt like home.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Greendale?

A: My neighbor. His name is Peter. He enjoys riding his bike everywhere. He welcomed us when we moved in right away and he always says hi and makes conversation. He’s very friendly.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?  And why?

A: As long as it has a beach and it’s warm, I’ll be happy. As we lead up into fall and winter, I don’t think you can go wrong with just a relaxing atmosphere. I couldn’t narrow down the city because I could probably go anywhere and find something fun. But right now, I would go to a beach.

Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?

A: My favorite movie of all time is called The Five Heartbeats. It was written and directed by Robert Townsend. It’s a story of five young men who come together and create a music group. It’s themed off the storyline of the Temptations, but it’s a fictional story. I love all the music that comes with that movie. I remember as a kid watching it on TV and then we recorded it on our VCR.  I used to watch that movie so much that I wore out that tape. To this day, I still sing the songs and my kids know the songs.

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?

A: If you’re in a crowd and the crowd starts running, you should probably run to!

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: I think I’m going to skydive one day.

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: I love Earth, Wind and Fire. I’ve seen them in concert. They were my second concert I ever went to at Summerfest. Next favorite is Michael Jackson. And finally, it’s Frankie Beverly & Maze.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Greendale?

A: Sugar & Flour. It’s so welcoming. It gives you a happy feeling.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Greendale would you have lunch?

A: I would have lunch with Michelle Obama at Sugar & Flour.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greendale?

A: I think it’s funny that everybody refers to it as a bubble. Not too many people get in it, and then they don’t want to leave out of it! It’s a unique reference. It’s a good bubble.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: If I’m still here, that would be awesome. But my other half is born and raised in Milwaukee and he has the itch to finally get out of the Milwaukee/Greendale area and move to North Carolina, specifically, the Charlotte area. He has family there. I would love the adventure. So, if we are still here in Greendale, yay! If not, we will be in another neighborhood that would be just as welcoming and embrace us.

Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: My twin sister and I look nothing alike. We resemble each of our parents. If you saw us in person, you wouldn’t even know we were related until you heard us talk. We sound a lot alike but we don’t look alike. Another fun fact about me is that I can do more push-ups than people think!

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

A: Love, fun and peace.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

A: Angela Bassett. She is fabulous.

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer or Nanny?

A: Probably a housekeeper. Sometimes projects have to come first, and my kids and I are actively involved in everything. I feel like I’m always doing dishes!
