Jamie Podd

Jamie Podd is a lifelong Greendale resident who has been “Creating Closer Community” within our Village. Jamie is a co-founder of a popular Greendale Facebook group called “Greendale Mamas & Munchkins” that not only brings people together online, but also coordinates in-person gatherings. The group supports each other, local charities, Greendale residents in need, and the community in general.

You may also have run into Jamie at Ray’s Butcher Shoppe, which is her husband’s family business. Or perhaps you recognize Jamie’s name as the person who alerted neighbors about a car fire on Dawson Ct earlier this year! Thank you, Jamie, for taking action and helping to get people out of harms way.

Jamie, thank you for your contributions to our Village and for being such a wonderful example of what makes our community great!

I am a lifelong Greendale resident. I have two kids with my husband, Scott. He is also a graduate of GHS. We love our community and feel so thankful to be raising our children here as well. My sister and I founded a facebook group called “Greendale Mamas & Munchkins” in 2017 as a way for local moms to connect, share ideas, support each other, and create new experiences. We have done meet ups and playdates, hosted private events at local gyms such as Peak Performance Fitness Facility Greendale and Simple Joy Yoga. We came together & were able to help three of our own families struggling to provide gifts at Christmas 2020. We purchased everything on the children’s lists and gifted it to the families. The group we have created online is one that shows up for people and our community in real life.

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am mostly at home but I do have a couple projects I take on for my husband’s business, Ray’s Butcher Shoppe. I recently designed our custom hats and shirts. Honestly, I love to see those friendly faces that have come to the shoppe for years. It’s always a great feeling to chat with them & know we are a part of their family traditions.

Q: Please tell us about any volunteering that you have done or currently do.
Greendale Mamas & Munchkins is always looking for new ways to help support local charities. We’ve collected items for the Hope House, The Guest House, Mke Rescue Mission, baked desserts for Mr. Bob’s Under the Bridge. We’ve done food drives for St. Al’s food pantry.

Q: Please tell us about any interesting or unique hobbies that you have?
We love to be outside and fish. As soon as the weather gets nice, you can find us at the lake as much as possible!!
