Michelle McDonough had dreamed of becoming a vet since she was 5 years old. With hard work and determination, she made that dream a reality over 10 years ago. Her most recent accomplishment in the veterinary world was becoming the owner of Greendale Village Vet which is located at 6210 Industrial Ct, Greendale. Please help us to welcome Michelle to the Greendale community!

My name is Michelle McDonough. I am the new owner of Greendale Village Vet. I am very excited to serve this amazing community. I grew up in Oak Creek and have lived in Wisconsin my whole life. Growing up I had two very hard working parents to look up to. With this drive inside of me I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. In 2010 I graduated from UW-Madison with my doctorate in veterinary medicine. I grew my skills as a practitioner, and in March took on a new challenge of owning my own business.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have been married to my loving and supportive husband Nick for 10 years. We have two beautiful children, Luke and Claire.
Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a small animal veterinarian. I love taking care of pets and connecting with their owners. I feel very honored when a person chooses myself or my clinic to care for their pet. To many, animals are like their family members and finding the right veterinarian to take care of that important family member is an important decision.
Q: Please tell us about any interesting or unique hobbies that you have?
I love to go fishing with my husband and kiddos.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Greendale? What do you love there?
I love Panther Pub, their food is great and I especially love getting over there during my lunch hour and sitting on the patio. I also really like enjoying a drink at Vintage 38 or Dia y Noche.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Greendale?
I purchased my business in March of 2021 so I am new to the community
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to Africa. I really want to go on an African safari. I love animals obviously and to see them in their natural habit would be my dream vacation.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A favorite classic tv show of mine is “Friends”. That show is always good for a good laugh. My favorite movie is Remember the Titans. I love the story and the message of friendship, teamwork, and acceptance. The music is pretty great too.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
Live your life in a positive manner. If you have a positive attitude it is contagious to others around you. Life is too short to not be happy and live every day to its fullest.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
When I retire I want to go to Europe for a few months and just travel around on the train to different countries and explore.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Zac Brown Band.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greendale?
My favorite thing is the small town feel. I love the historic downtown area. There is so much to do and so many little places and restaurants to try.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself growing my local veterinary clinic to be a well known hospital in the community and surrounding areas. I want Greendale Village Vet to be a place that people feel at home and the most trusted veterinary clinic in the area.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I can juggle!
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Sienna in Italy
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Thanksgiving!!! I love seeing the whole family and eating until we are stuffed to the brim.
