Ella Vitrano is a freshman at Greendale High School. She’s a member of G-Harmony, an a capella group, and high school theater. She started acting classes when she was 4 years old at First Stage in Milwaukee. Her first performance on stage was at 8 years old in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at First Stage in 2013. Watch for her on the GHS stage in her next performance as Penny in Honk the Musical.
She also participates in Teens with Impact, a group of student leaders making a difference in their school and community. As a group, the members create events, campaigns, and activities focused on alcohol and drug use prevention, mental illness awareness and diversity.
Ella likes painting, singing, dancing, playing ukulele, baking and playing tennis. She lives in Greendale with her Mom, Dad, brother, sister and cat named Lucy.

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career as an actor?
A: My Auntie Em, she’s an actress. She just finished grad school and she does a lot of plays. At a really young age, I got involved in theater and my aunt has always been there to guide and inspire me. I have seen her in her shows; she’s amazing and doing such a great job.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Greendale, and what do you love there?
A: Ferch’s – I love their custard. When I was younger, I liked their banana ice cream with marshmallows but now I love their vanilla malts.
Q: How long have you lived in Greendale?
A: We moved here when I was 2 right before Max and Liv were born; we needed a bigger house and the Greendale school district is good.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Greendale?
A: My first and third grade teacher, Mrs. Weber. She’s really an out of the ordinary person. She’s great and always made learning fun. We did activities that were different from all other classes.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: I would go to London or Paris. I would like to go to Paris with my mom and my sister Liv because my mom got to go to Paris with her Mom and sister. I love the Eiffel Tower and I love French food.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is A League of Their Own.
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: There’s a quote from an actress I met named Jessie Funk, “you don’t have to earn your worth”. That is what I live by now.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: I would like to be on Broadway.
Q: What is your favorite music / 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?
A: I like music from musical theater and older music like The Beatles, AC/DC and Black Eyed Peas.
Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Greendale?
A: They Grow Like Weeds shop because I went there with my grandma when I was little before we went up North. She brought me there and let me pick out some toys to bring on vacation.
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why and where would you have lunch?
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greendale?
A: Everyone knows everyone. It’s a great community.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: Acting in movies or on Broadway.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: I like to paint stress reliever foam toys (aka “squishies”).
Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
A: Family, First Stage and the library.
Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?
A: Idina Menzel, she’s the original Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and the voice of Elsa in Frozen.
Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer or Nanny?
A: Housekeeper because I don’t like cleaning.
