A Decades-Long Love Affair: Embracing Greendale’s Charm

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 stars)

I’ve called Greendale home since 1988, and it’s been an incredible journey witnessing this charming village grow and transform into the thriving community it is today. My affection for Greendale began on Maplewood Dr, but as my family expanded, so did our need for space. With an unwavering loyalty to this community, I looked no further and found my dream home on Sugarbush Lane, where our backyard became a cherished sanctuary for us all.

Greendale’s schools have played an integral role in my life, with all three of my children attending them. Volunteering at Highland View, the Middle, and High Schools allowed me to give back and support the excellent education system this village offers. When I remarried, my husband’s child also became a part of this community, we happily embraced the role of “band parents” while our youngest two were in the marching band under the inspiring guidance of Tom Reifenberg.

Beyond the schools, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in Greendale’s local business scene. As a proud owner of Greenstone Financial and Pathway Divorce Solutions, I’ve become an active member of the Greendale Chamber of Commerce. The connections I’ve made with fellow business owners have blossomed into meaningful friendships and mutually supportive partnerships.

One of the many highlights of living in Greendale is its convenient proximity to major cities like Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago. The downtown Milwaukee area and the airport are just a stone’s throw away, making it effortless to explore bigger cities without sacrificing the comfort and tranquility that Greendale offers.

Of course, no review of a Wisconsin town would be complete without a mention of the winters. While I may not be a fan of the chilly season, the warmth of the community more than makes up for it. From holiday festivities to neighborhood gatherings, the community spirit shines through even the coldest months.

Greendale’s charm lies not only in its picturesque surroundings but also in the genuine camaraderie shared by its residents. Over the years, I’ve seen the village evolve into a beautiful tapestry of diversity, growth, and unity.

Greendale is more than just a place on the map—it’s a community that embraces its past while paving the way for an even brighter future. As my family and businesses continue to thrive here, I can confidently say that I don’t envision us ever leaving this great community. It has been a privilege to call Greendale home, and I look forward to cherishing its beauty and warmth for many more years to come. – Jodie Lane
