Olivia, please tell us about your current plans after high school. What inspired you to choose this path?

I am attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison to study Biology. I have always loved the science field because there is always something new and interesting to learn. Dissections are my favorite part!

 

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I live in Greendale with my Mom, Dad, my brother, Mitchell (20), and my sister, Julia (15). My oldest brother, Dan (22), lives in Madison. My Dad’s side of the family is of German descent and my Mom’s is American Indian.

 

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Greendale?

I love Ferch’s and Ricardo’s (the BLT pizza is my favorite).

 

Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Greendale?

My APES teacher, Ms. Hahm because she is so full of life and is excited about every single thing that happens. She radiates positivity and always makes sure to say “Hi” to me, ask me how my day is going, and give me hugs. I have never once seen her without a smile on her face.

 

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

I would travel to Australia, because it is on my bucket list to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef.

 

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

My absolute favorite movie is Forrest Gump, I have seen it over 25 times. My favorite TV shows are 90210 and Glee.

 

What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

“Sometimes you just need to take a break from your busy life and do something that makes you feel happy and relax.” – Michelle Brody

My orchestra teacher would always tell me that it is important to step back from school and stress and take some time for yourself.

 

What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

I love Twenty One Pilots and lately I have been listening to a lot of Khalid.

 

If you could choose anyone that is alive today, and not a relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where in Greendale would you meet for lunch?

I would have lunch with Tom Hanks at Bubba Gump so that we could talk about Forrest Gump together.

 

What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greendale?

I love that Greendale is small, but not too small, because all of my friends are only a few minutes away and everyone knows each other. Everyone is so kind.

 

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In 5 years, I hope to be graduated from college and starting to work, although I am currently not sure what I want to do for a job. 10 years from now I hope to be living somewhere warm and starting a family.

 

What show are you binge watching right now?

I have recently been binging on Gossip Girl, Riverdale, and All American.

 

Favorite month? Holiday? And best single day on the calendar?

My favorite month is definitely August because my birthday is in August and it has the warmest weather. My favorite single day on the calendar is my birthday because it is on 8/8 and that is cool. My favorite holiday is Christmas because it is such a happy time and it is a great way to end each year.

 

Who inspires you to be better?

My friends and family.

 

If you could go back over your entire school career what is the one thing you would do different?

I would try to stress less about school and enjoy every moment a little bit more because it all went by so fast.

 

Who or what do you miss the most right now?

My best friends!!!!

 

What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

I want to hug my friends and enjoy our summer together before we all go off to college.
