Ellie, please tell us about your current plans after high school. What inspired you to choose this path?

I am going to Saint Louis University to major in Biomedical Engineering. Biomedical engineering is a really interesting and innovating field and I’d enjoy doing work that improves people’s lives.

 

Please tell us a little bit about your family.

I live with my mom, dad, older brother, older sister, and younger brother. We also have a dog named Zilla.

 

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Greendale?

I really like Kopp’s Custard and El Beso.

 

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

I’ve always wanted to travel to Croatia. It would be really cool to see where my family came from, plus Croatia has really beautiful beaches and a great soccer team!

 

What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

One of my favorite movies is Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, and one of my favorite TV shows is The Good Place.

 

What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

Ms. Zientek and Ms. Tarnowski both helped me to believe in myself and inspired me to go into Biomedical Engineering.

 

What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?

If you could choose anyone that is alive today, and not a relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where in Greendale would you meet for lunch?

I would want to have lunch at Sugar & Flour with Sophia Bush. She is a very inspiring activist and one of my favorite actors so we would have a lot to talk about.

 

What is your favorite thing or something unique about Greendale?

Greendale’s marching band is very unique. It’s a very fun group where I’ve made really amazing friends. We also get really cool opportunities, like traveling to Pasadena to perform in the Rose Parade.

 

Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

I want to have a job I love, in an exciting city and I want to adopt a dog.

 

What show are you binge watching right now?

Favorite month? Holiday? And best single day on the calendar?

My favorite month is June because I love the beginning of summer. My favorite day is either my birthday or my favorite holiday, Christmas!

 

Who inspires you to be better?

My friends and my family always inspire me to be a kinder person.

 

If you could go back over your entire school career what is the one thing you would do different?

I would have joined the swim team earlier! I didn’t try out until junior year but it was so much fun and I wish I’d done it all four years.

 

Who or what do you miss the most right now?

I really miss spending time with my friends. I also miss little things like dinners with my grandma and seeing my teachers every day.

 

What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

I want to go get custard with my friends!
